Pondering Mastery

"A true Master knows that MASTERY means one is always mastering the art of being a student"

From: The Way of Mastery

As I explore the idea of mastery these are concepts I have come to value. Mastery may sound like a lofty intention, but isn't that what we all want at some point? For it is the path to our greatest unique creative potential and the path to our joy. Making physical, that which is our essence, for the sake of personal fulfillment. To live as a fully actualized individual in full expression of the person/ artist/ musician/ teacher/ poet/ parent/ partner/ pilot/ lover-of-life that you came here to be, to learn to be your most essential self.

Mastery is personal, it means never giving up on your dreams, to keep showing up for what it takes to reach the next level, being brave and moving forward in the face of all obstacles and criticism. It means believing in your calling enough to stay the course toward your true north, even when things get rough and making course corrections when you're distracted or lose your way.

Mastery is definitely NOT perfectionism. Mastery requires room to start at the beginning, over and over, to make attempts and possible failures and then getting up and attempting again. Mastery is NOT a destination, it is the journey with intention of always expanding and growing.

"Your Creative Journey" is my approach which explores both the inner and outer dimensions of creative expression. These workshops have been described as a retreat experience that rejuvenates your inspiration and excitement for making art and an opening to a path of mastery. Each day begins with creating a safe and enjoyable environment for your expression to emerge gracefully, followed by instruction of soft pastel techniques, composition and color theory.

Learn the fundamentals of pastel painting in a fun and relaxed environment

Learn principles of creating vibrant landscapes and infuse your artwork with dynamic light and color

Expand your artistic expression and tap into your creative fire and inspired genius.
