"Our Time on the River" was painted especially to support fundraising for our new Center for the Arts Evergreen. The inspiration spoke to me of the long journey toward a dream to be realized, experiencing beauty and challenge along the way and the promise of a bright future.
For me the river is a metaphor for the movement of life and the creative process. Like the river, the creative flow is always moving forward no matter what obstacles, diversions or eddies, the flow is always finding a way forward. It's timing can't be rushed or predicted and reminds us that once an inspired project is initiated it takes on a life of its own.
I dedicate this painting as my gratitude to all of those who's contribution of great efforts and financial support over many years have helped to make this dream for our community a reality.
